The new game of the Metro series, Metro: Awakening, which will be released soon, was introduced at PlayStation’s “State of Play” event. This game is actually a spin-off of the series, offering a virtual reality experience that takes players right into the heart of the Metro universe. According to the first trailer, players take on the role of a doctor named “Seerdar” who searches the dark tunnels of the Moscow metro to find his missing wife.
PS VR2 Game Metro: Awakening Revealed at State of Play
This game, planned to be released in 2024, comes after the previous game of the series, Metro: Exodus, was published by 4A Games in 2019. Metro: Exodus took the players in the series out of Russia’s subways and into a wider exploration of the outside world. Fans of the long-running Metro series were hoping that the new game would be an open-world multiplayer game.
However, Metro: Awakening is neither an open-world multiplayer game nor is it considered the next big step in the series. This game is the latest teaser of the Metro series offering a virtual reality experience, developed by Vertigo Games instead of 4A Games.
For fans eagerly awaiting the next major release of the Metro series, Metro: Awakening emerges as a reliable alternative. However, it should be noted that a PS VR2 is required to fully enjoy this experience.
