After March 31, owners with no tag for their pet could face a $240 fine.

Those buying a tag after March 31 will face a $10 late fee.

If a dog is lost, tag information is used to help reunite the pet with its owner, the municipality said. Dog tag revenue helps offset shelter operation, animal control and pet adoption services costs.
