(Finance) – Avioa company listed on Euronext STAR Milan and active in the construction and development of space launchers and solid and liquid propulsion systems for space transport, announced that “at the moment there are no foreseeable impacts on the continuity of Vega and Vega C operations in the medium term“. These are the satellite launchers of the European Space Agency (ESA) designed to carry light loads into low earth orbit. In particular, the procurement process of the fourth stage engine of Vega and Vega C, produced in Ukraine, has been started for some years already to cover deliveries for launches scheduled until 2026, a note reads.
The deliveries were planned well in advance from the start with respect to the scheduled flight dates, to build – and constantly have – a “strategic stock”, also to facilitate the execution of the integration and assembly processes of several flight units of the fourth stage in parallel. Deliveries were made, also in 2022, as originally planned, so that today Avio it does not see specific risks of continuity of operations in the medium term linked to the availability of these engines. Quantitative detailed information on the subject remains confidential as it is the subject of confidential agreements and for reasons of industrial safety also in the interest of end customers, it is emphasized.
Furthermore, Avio points out that it has already undertaken an assessment of any technical and industrial actions for the mitigation of the risk of continuity of supply in the long termbased on the best alternative technologies available or under development.
