Avatar: The Way of Water, the second part of the Avatar series, is currently in cinemas. But how does the story continue? Director James Cameron is far from showing us all of Pandora. Three more sequels have a theatrical release according to official information – and large parts of this have already been turned off.
Sci-Fi Sequels: How Avatar 2, 3 & 4 Bypass the Stranger Things Effect
Cameron has been working on Avatar 2, Avatar 3, and Avatar 4 simultaneously for the past several years. Accordingly, the third part is already complete. From Part 4 he filmed individual key moments. There’s a reason for that: Cameron works with many young actorswho grow up fast.
An example? Took actress Trinity Jo-Li Bliss was seven years old when she was cast in Avatar: The Way of Water. Now that the film is finally in the cinemas, she has long since passed her 13th birthday. Even with the most modern effects it would have been very tricky for Cameron to conceal this difference.

With the Avatar sequels, Cameron wanted to make sure that this didn’t happen. So he decided to as much as possible to rotate in parallel.
