Avatar 2 costs an incredible amount but is the

Like its predecessor, Avatar 2: The Way of Water took decades in development, employing revolutionary technology and was the result of intense filming. This is not without consequences. It is already one of the four most expensive films of all time. And it can also make it to the top of this list.

Only three films are as expensive as Avatar 2: how much does the sci-fi hit cost?

As sources tell the Hollywood Reporter, the film will cost $350-400 million. That would make it at least the fourth most expensive movie of all time behind Avengers 3: Infinity War, Avengers 4: Endgame, Marvel’s The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron and Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides. Should the 400 million come true, however, it will be by far the most expensive canvas work ever.

It is difficult to estimate how much a film will actually cost before it is released in cinemas. At this point in time, there are still running expenses, for example for advertising, which make it difficult to draw up the overall budget from outside. The statements to the Hollywood Reporter do not seem unlikely. Especially CGI effects are regularly among the most expensive items in Hollywood blockbusters.

When is Avatar 2 in cinemas?

We’ll soon find out whether the calculation for the sci-fi film works out. Avatar 2 will be released on December 14, 2022 in the cinema. Sequels are scheduled to hit screens every two years.
