Avalonia the animated film in time for Christmas on Disney

AVALONIA FILM. Long awaited in France despite a theatrical release in the United States, the animated film Avalonia will be released in streaming on Disney+. We tell you about it.

New disney movie, Avalonia continues the animation tradition of the studio behind Snow White, Aladdin but also The Snow Queen. Because, for more than a decade now, the Disney animation studios have turned to 3D animation techniques, with great success, as Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph and Encanto have proven. Avalonia: The Strange Voyage intends to continue this momentum with a new Animation Film in computer generated images directed by Don Hall and Qui Nguyen. It is therefore a co-production by the director of Moana and the New Heroes and the co-screenwriter of Raya and the last dragon.

Released for the Thanksgiving weekend in the United States, Avalonia – named Strange World in the original version – however did not meet its audience. It has a total of $33 million in revenue on American soil alone and a total of $56 million in revenue worldwide. We imagine that this relative failure at the box office across the Atlantic could have motivated the decision to release it only on the platform of streaming by Disney+ subscription in France. In any case, Avalonia: The Strange Voyage will be released in France on December 23, 2022 exclusively for Disney+ subscribers!

Synopsis – Avalonia: The Strange Voyage focuses on the Clades, a family of explorers who come into contact with Avalonia, a hitherto unexplored world full of perils and fantastic creatures. The Clades will have to put aside their quarrels if they want to carry out their expedition, as perilous as it is crucial.
