When we bring all the parts together, we see that the Turkish automobile market is in a period when it set a new record. The sales, which exceeded 100 thousand for the first time last March, brought a brand new record as expected in May data. Auto sales increased almost 70 percent compared to May 2022
When we look at the ODD data in more detail, we see a significant increase in the five-month comprehensive picture of the market. Accordingly, in the January-May period of 2023, the passenger and light commercial vehicle market increased by 60.5% to 445,006. Considering that the table will continue to increase, it will not be surprising to see the results exceeding the 1 million threshold at the end of 2023.

When we focus only on May 2023, we see that automobile sales increased by 68.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 87,218 units. Light commercial vehicle sales also increased by 79.9% to 24,138 in the same period. The automobile and light commercial vehicle market increased by 69.1% compared to the average 10-year May sales. In this context, the automobile market increased by 69.2% compared to the 10-year May average sales. The light commercial vehicle segment, on the other hand, increased by 69.1% compared to the 10-year May average sales.
