The proposed agreement is for four years and requires the approval of the 57,000 members of the union at Ford first, in order to be finally adopted for the workers there.
However, the UAW has already called on the members taken out on strike at Ford to return to work.
If the agreement is accepted, it could guide settlements between the UAW and the two other manufacturers where union members are on strike – GM and Stellantis Jeep.
According to the UAW, the preliminary settlement involves a wage increase of 25 percent over four years and increased allowances that total an increase of more than 30 percent.

He claims the UAW has gotten things done that no one thought possible. The companies’ initial bid was 23 percent.
