These problems would also concern 7 500 births every year. The World Awareness Day to autism takes place every year on April 2. When is Autism Day in France?
The World Autism Awareness Day takes place on Saturday, April 2, 2022. This day was proclaimed in 2007 by the United Nations (UN). Originally proposed by Qatarit has since been supported by all Member States to raise awareness of autism at all levels of society.
Blue brings calm and comfort.
To show their commitment, everyone is invited to wear bluethe symbolic color of autism, recalls the Ministry in charge of Disability in France. Several possibilities on April 2:

- Wear a blue ribbon (distributed free of charge by associations and event partners, examples below)

Why blue for Autism Day?
The color blue is not randomly chosen to symbolize autism. It’s a color that brings calm and comfort, two qualities that people with autism need to be more serene and confident. Furthermore, “this color symbolizes dream and lifebecause she is soft and soothingand seems appreciated by people with autism who often experience sensory disturbances”, specifies the Government on its website.

What are the actions for Autism Day?
On April 2, 2022, several landmarks light up blue in order to remind, in a symbolic way, the need to simplify and improve the daily lives of autistic people, full citizens. Angers, Bordeaux, Dijon, Le Havre, Lille, Montpellier... are part of the cities of France mobilized. AT Lyons, a giant flashmob is organized at 10 a.m. and many sports and fun activities (accessible to everyone, especially people with ASD) are offered throughout the day. the Great Autism Fair offers various conferences and round tables in line on the theme of autism on April 2 and 3, 2022. Among the topics covered: emotions and social skills in autistic people, school inclusion, the particularities of communication of ASD… All led by professionals specialized in ASD (speech therapists, psychomotor therapists, doctors of philosophy, specialized educators, etc.).
