Australian man and his dog rescued after months at sea

The 51-year-old was on his way from the Mexican city of La Paz to French Polynesia, an island group in Oceania, when his boat was damaged in a storm, reports TT.

The accident happened a couple of weeks after he left the port in Mexico. After three months, the crew of a Mexican fishing boat discovered his boat drifting in the Pacific Ocean, nearly 2,000 kilometers from the coast.

Timothy Shaddock has told the Australian media that he and the dog Bella survived on raw fish and rainwater, writes TT.

– I have gone through a very difficult ordeal at sea. I just need to rest and eat good food because I’ve been alone at sea for so long, he told Australian television channel Nine News.
