Australian flights grounded – third day in a row

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

After only 20 minutes of travel, the passengers were informed that due to technical problems with the plane, as a safety measure, they would land again, a passenger told 7News.

It is the third time in as many days that similar events have taken place in Australia. All planes have belonged to the airline Qantas.

On Wednesday, a plane en route from Auckland in New Zealand sent a distress signal as it approached Sydney. With an hour’s flight time left to Sydney, the pilot announced that one of the plane’s engines was malfunctioning and losing power.

A major rescue effort was prepared at Sydney airport but the plane was able to land without any problems.

On Thursday morning, another Qantas flight, this time bound for Fiji, turned back to Sydney after technical problems.
