Finland’s tennis men’s Davis Cup semi-final opponent on Friday is Australia, which has been swept into the four by the 2022 Wimbledon doubles champion pair Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden.
Finland’s semi-final match was decided late on Wednesday night in a prolonged doubles match, where Australia’s unbeaten duo Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden beat the Czech pair Jiri Lehecka / Adam Pavlasek 6–4, 7–5 sealed the men’s Davis Cup quarter-final win 2–1 for their country.
Purcell/Ebden broke the second set in the 11th game, at 5-5, serving for the second time in the match to take a decisive 6-5 lead. My serving turn came easily and at the same time a 7–5 set win guaranteed victory. The Australians didn’t give the Czech couple a single break in the entire match. The doubles game lasted one hour and 12 minutes.

In the third set of the first players, progress was steady, but Lehecka crumbled in the 11th game to a pass loss. De Minaur then held his own and won the set 7–5 and the match 2–1.
