Aura Vasama is ready for the Horse Show World Cup

Aura Vasama, 21, is one of the interesting Finnish names in next weekend’s show jumping at the Helsinki Horse Show.

Preparing for the Helsinki Horse Show World Cup Aura Vasama started the Western European League competitions on Sunday promisingly on the demanding track in Oslo. In the Oslo World Cup, only four riders cleared the base course without mistakes and made it to the rerun.

Vasama had one drop, and the time was enough for 14th place in the race. Riding the Canto Bruno gelding, Vasama achieved his first points in the World Cup.

– There was work to be done on the track for the first World Cup of the season, Vasama underlined the difficulty of the track in the announcement of the Riders’ Association.

Vasama was overall satisfied with his riding.

– Sometimes I might get a little stuck, but now I managed to find a good rhythm, Vasama stated.

The only fall was preceded by a small mistake by the rider.

– I came a little close at the barrier, I stayed on the inside edge, Vasama said.

Belgian Gregory Wathelet rode Bond Jamesbond de Hay to victory in the replay. Swiss Edouard Schmitz on the horse Gamin van’t Naastveldhof cleared the new course faster than the winner, but was second by one fall. French Julien Gon was third on the horse Valou du Lys.

Schmitz and Vasama will continue the competition season at the Helsinki Horse Show World Cup next Sunday.

– I’m looking forward to getting home to compete. Helsinki has more atmosphere than Oslo, Vasama promised.

will broadcast the Helsinki Horse Show on its channels on TV2 and Areena on Saturday and Sunday next week.
