Audrey Najar, such an ordinary neighbor

Audrey Najar such an ordinary neighbor

Audrey Najar’s first novel tells of a neighborhood investigation into an “ordinary” man, in an ordinary place, who is about to commit irreparable harm.

It is a classic of the most sordid news items. The neighborhood investigation, that of a cop or a journalist who collects the testimonies of those who for years rubbed shoulders with a potential murderer without knowing it.

Each time the same sentence comes back: “Oh dear, I could never have thought that, he was so nice, he was like everyone else, like us, what”. In other words, banal.

It’s the word that comes to mind when you read the first novel ofAudrey Najar. It tells the story of an ordinary man who lives in an ordinary building in an ordinary neighborhood of an ordinary small town. And who will commit the irreparable.

The title can be summed up in one word: “Ordinary”. Audrey Najar’s book is published by Le Masque editions.
