Audi R8 to Be Discontinued in March

The final Audi R8 will roll off the production line at the end of March, closing the chapter on one of the industry’s best mid-engine supercars and one of the few remaining cars offered with a high-revving, naturally aspirated engine.

The end of the road is in sight for the Audi R8

Audi announced in 2019 that the R8 would be discontinued at the end of 2023, but it was recently revealed that the car was still in production at the company’s Böllinger Höfe factory. Audi TT and R8 spokesperson Liza Kellner said in a statement that while production is still ongoing, it will end next month.

“It is true that the last Audi R8 will roll off the production line at the end of the first quarter of 2024,” Kellner told Motor1. This marks the end of production of an iconic sports car at the Audi Böllinger Höfe plant in Neckarsulm. The fully electric Audi e-tron GT will continue to be produced at Böllinger Höfe. “As part of our strategy that clearly aims to electrify the entire product portfolio, we have decided to withdraw the R8 from the program at the end of the first quarter of 2024.” said.
