Attention! After the holiday, it started to be seen especially in children! Doctors told us ‘we saw too many cases’

Specialist Assoc. Dr. Kaman warned, “Pool-borne contagion is one of the most important causes of the disease. We should pay attention to hand washing, post-toilet hygiene, clean food and water consumption in our children. Especially for small babies, the sea should be preferred instead of the pool.”

For this reason, Kaman pointed out the importance of hygiene in children, “It is very important that we pay attention to hand washing, hygiene after the toilet, clean food and water consumption in our children. We have seen a large number of cases in our outpatient clinic and inpatient services.” shared his knowledge.

Underlining that supportive treatments are applied in the disease, Kaman continued his words as follows:

“There is not much that can be done except for supportive treatments such as controlling the child’s fever frequently, if the rash in the throat is high, if his nutrition is poor, etc. can cause meningitis. Especially small babies are in a slightly more risky group in this respect.”

Kaman pointed out the importance of applying the treatments recommended by physicians in this type of diseases, and explained that the disease is rarely seen in adults and is mostly transmitted from children to children.

-“We do not observe a very serious increase in the rotavirus”
Kaman, who also shared information about rotavirus, which occurs with excessive vomiting, diarrhea and weakness and can be very severe in infants, said, “Rotavirus is more common in late winter and spring, but the frequency of the disease may have shifted a little more due to the seasonal change in the last period and the late warming of the weather. But at the moment we do not observe a very serious increase in cases, hospitalizations.” said.

Kaman pointed out that about 40 percent of severe diarrhea seen under the age of 5 in the world is caused by rotavirus, and emphasized that vaccination of newborn babies against this virus is the most effective method in preventing the disease.
