A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after an attempted murder at the church in Timrå on Sunday evening.
According to information to Aftonbladet, he has serious knife injuries.
The perpetrator is at large.
The police were alerted at 9pm to the parking lot at Timrå church along E 4. There they found the man who, according to Aftonbladet’s information, had been stabbed.
He was conscious when he was taken away by ambulance. During the night he was sedated for surgery at the hospital in Sundsvall.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.
– The crime scene is likely adjacent to the church parking lot. That is where we have blocked off and are carrying out a technical investigation, says Anderz Ohlsson, on-call preliminary investigation manager at the police.
The police have also recovered a car from Lidl’s parking lot on the other side of E 4.
– We are looking for traces in the car. It can be linked to the plaintiff, says Anderz Ohlsson.
The police are now seeking contact with witnesses who may have seen something connected to the attempted murder.
– We have no suspect. Some people are heard and some things are confiscated, even in addition to the car, he says.
