Shortly after one o’clock in the morning, the police were alerted about a person who had been cut with a knife at Hacksta in Västerås. At the scene, the police found an injured man in his 40s who had been stabbed in the chest and arms. The man was taken care of by an ambulance and is said to have minor injuries.
– It is the injured man who himself called in and raised the alarm, says Mathias Rutegård, press spokesperson at the police.
Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
Shortly after the incident, the police arrested a 45-year-old man who was arrested during the morning on suspicion of attempted murder, following a decision by the public prosecutor.
– We have been on site during the night and morning to understand how it all happened. And if there is any connection to other crimes, says Mathias Rutegård.
