A woman has died after a knife attack inside Ica Maxi in Norsborg, south of Stockholm.
The police have arrested a 25-year-old man.
– We see no clear motive for this, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
A woman in her 60s has died after a knife attack in Botkyrka municipality. The crime took place inside Ica Maxi in Norsborg at around 19.40.
The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter, but her life could not be saved. Relatives have been notified.
According to information to The Express the woman was employed in the store.
Man arrested with knife
A 25-year-old man has been arrested and the incident is being investigated as a murder. Whether the man is already known to the police cannot be answered.
“At the moment, no relationship between the two people has been established,” the police write on their website.
The police have seized a knife in connection with the crime.
– We suspect that it has been used by the perpetrator, says Daniel Wikdahl.
“No clear motive”
The alarm came in at 19.40 and according to the police there are witnesses to the incident.
– I cannot answer how much people have seen of the incident, says Daniel Wikdahl.
The police also cannot say anything about the man’s motive.
– We see no clear motive for this, says Wikdahl.
The police are still on site at the supermarket to interview witnesses and carry out other investigative measures.
