According to the country’s police, the crime is believed to be linked to increasing sectarian tensions between the two Muslim orientations, Sunni and Shia.
“When the two attackers entered the school, they identified Shiites and separated them before opening fire,” Muhammad Imran, police chief of the Kurram district in Pakistan’s former clan areas, told the AFP news agency.
Earlier on Thursday, a man from the Sunni orientation was attacked and killed, according to the police.
— The first incident took place at half past twelve and the second attack took place at half past three in the afternoon. These attacks are linked to sectarian violence, says Amir Nawaz, who represents the leadership of the area’s largest city, Parachinar.
