Recep Bilgen, President of the Schura Association of the State of Lower Saxony, which includes many Muslim associations in Germany, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that images reached him yesterday evening that some tombstones were damaged in the Stöcken Cemetery in Hannover, where the graves of Muslims are located.
Noting that he went to the cemetery today and made inspections, Bilgen requested the authorities to investigate the cause of the damage to the tombstones in question.
Reminding that Muslim graves have been polluted many times in recent years, Bilgen pointed out that recently, letters signed by the far-right “NSU 2.0” have been sent to mosques.
Bilgen, therefore, noted that it is important to fully shed light on the incident in question.
In the city of Iserlohn, Lower Saxony, at the beginning of 2022, an unidentified person or persons broke the tombstones of Turks and Muslims. (AA)
