Atlantia closed the 1st quarter with a profit with air and motorway traffic recovery

(Finance) – Atlantia closed the 1st quarter of the year with a profit for the period of 446 million euroswhich compares with a loss of 158 million euros in the first quarter of 2021, of which attributable to the Group for 344 million euros (loss of 97 million euros in the first quarter of 2021) and attributable to minority interests for 102 million euros (loss of 61 million euros in the first quarter of 2021). Net income from continuing operations amounted to 98 million euros, of which 42 million euros pertaining to the Group.

THE operating revenues in the first quarter of 2022 they amounted to 1,491 million euros, an increase of 172 million euros (+ 13%) compared to the first quarter of 2021. In particular, motorway toll revenues amounted to 1,184 million euros and revenues from aeronautical services to 85 million euros thanks to the recovery of the traffic of Aeroporti di Roma and Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur after the pandemic. EBITDA amounted to 917 million euros, an increase of 125 million euros (+ 16%) compared to the first quarter of 2021, while EBIT it is positive for 274 million euros, with an increase of 300 million euros compared to the first quarter of 2021.

There financial situation as of March 31, 2022 presents a Net financial debt of 36,819 million euros (equal to 28,723 million euros excluding ASPI), down by 1,818 million euros compared to 31 December 2021, mainly due to the collection deriving from the compensation of Acesa’s investments for 1.07 billion euros, as well as for the FFO generated in the quarter (836 million euros).

As for the guidance 2022in consideration of the traffic recovery phase, an estimate of consolidated revenues of approximately € 6.6 billion and EBITDA of approximately € 4.1 billion is confirmed for the year 2022, with an expected improvement compared to 2021 results. The forecast of a Group FFO of approximately 2.4 billion euros and investments of approximately 1.5 billion euros are also confirmed.
