Maja Nilsson, 24, has jumped 1.91 this season, which is in the so-called span. She made it to the Olympics in Tokyo 2021 on the futurist and went to the final after clearing 1.95 in the qualifier.
– Maja Nilsson has not obtained the results required to be selected on a basic criterion. It’s a shame, but she hasn’t done it, says SOK team manager Peter Reinebo and points out that development has not progressed since the last Olympics.

– Maja was one of those I hoped to bring along. Considering her journey, it is clear that I suffer with her, says the national team captain Kajsa Bergqvist, referring to the severe knee injuries that Nilsson has come back from.

Thought she passed the Olympic qualifying limit in the SM this weekend
Nilsson was jubilant at clearing the 1.93 nomination limit at SM Uddevalla this weekend but it turned out that the quivering bar had fallen on a sprint holding a camera in place and the jump was disallowed and the red flag came up.
– I think she has shown that she has the capacity to be in the top 12 in the Olympics. She has been close to 1.93 many times and we have not wanted to force anything, but the plan has always been for her to be at her best in the Olympics and jump towards her press height of 1.96 there, says her disappointed coach Yannick Tregaro to SVT Sport .
