Pihlström didn’t really keep a record pace, but the time of 3:39.63 was the second best in his heat and good enough for a direct place in the WC final.
– When I noticed that the Briton (Adam Fogg) fell early, he who I thought in advance would have a chance to beat, then there was no reason to waste. Even if it went half-fast, but not so slow that he would have an easy trip back up, says Pihlström.
So now the WC final awaits on Sunday evening for Samuel Pihlström.
– Now it’s just a matter of resting. Maybe cheer for Andreas Kramer and Thobias Montler tomorrow.
Regarding tactics in the final, Pihlström finds it difficult to assess how it will turn out.
– Since Jakob Ingebrigtsen is not involved, it is not obvious that someone will get up and drive. So you have to adapt to how the race turns out.
