Athletics: Noah Lyles pushed past Christian Coleman in the final meters of the USA World Cup qualifier

Three-time world champion from Budapest this fall, Lyles had never beaten world record holder (6.34) Coleman in the 60m and looked set for another loss when he pushed past in the final metres.

He lay on his back and cheered afterwards. Lyles, who a couple of weeks ago ran 6.44 and then improved his personal record by seven hundredths, also secured a place in the Indoor WC in Glasgow March 1-3.

– I want to run faster every year. We strive for world domination, we are the best in the world, says Lyles after the race with his eyes on Glasgow.
