Swedish heptathlete Lovisa Karlsson finally gets an EC ticket. Confederation captain Kajsa Bergqvist announces this at a press conference.
– It is so very big. It is good that justice prevails and great of the European confederation to change its mind, says Karlsson’s coach Nadja Casadei at a press conference.

A proper soup flared up when France belatedly announced that two of their active women’s side would not be competing in Rome.
It then opened up for Swedish Lovisa Karlsson, 24, and Austrian Isabel Posch to each get a place as they were second in line in the ranking.
Passed the dream limit of 6000 points
But then France instead got through a notification by Kevin Mayer in the men’s decathlon. Which then meant that the men have 25 registered practitioners in 24 places, of which the ladies only have 22 out of 24.
But now the association listened to the strong protests and gave Karlsson an EC ticket.
Karlsson has crossed the dream limit of 6,000 points twice this year.
