Long jumper Sagnia is investing in a solid fresh start. She had to end the season prematurely last summer when she was stopped by injuries and missed both the EC and the Olympics and even then she felt that it was time for something new.
Hear Khaddia Sagnia talk about missing the Olympics and why she ended the season early in the player above.
The new place is Karlstad, the new club IF Göta and the new coach Anders Möller, whom she has known for several years. Khaddi Sagnia says she wants to give herself the chance to throw everything up in the air and start over to find her way again.
“Like Karlstad very much”
– It’s so fun to be able to change everything, environment and trainer and make a new investment with a new way of thinking when it comes to training. I like Karlstad very much and have always liked Göta and will now have new energy.
Khaddi has been loyal to Ullevi FK since she started training athletics, but the decision to change clubs was still not difficult to make.
– I haven’t had any separation anxiety, but felt ready to take this step and feel full of anticipation. I’ve been in the same bubble since 1812 and felt it was time to make a change, says Sagnia.
Don’t want to get stuck in the thought “what if”
She wants to act and not stay in the same rut.
– It was better to do it than to sit back and think “what if” and if it doesn’t go well, it’s just to move on and be happy with the decision you made, thinks Sagnia.
The tests now show that she is on the right track for next season, where the WC in Tokyo in mid-September is the big goal. Whether there will be an indoor season has not yet been decided.
