Athletics: Here Armand Duplantis made his best jump to date: “Felt almost perfect”

In 2020, “Mondo” broke his first world record when he sailed over 6.17 meters in Torun, Poland. A little more than four years later, it was time for the latest, also in Poland. 6.26 the new listing was written.

In a new SVT programme, he tells where he has felt most satisfied so far. In 2022, he almost got it, the perfect jump.

– I had a very good jump in Eugene at the WC there, it’s probably the most perfect feeling I’ve had in a jump.

Watch Duplantis develop the feeling in the player.

– That’s where he sets his first outdoor world record and…

– That jump was magical. He does it so well, the speed is optimal, great technique. If he had only had a stiffer rod, he would have had an even higher margin.
