Patrik Lövgren was the last Swede in a WC final at 60 metres. At the indoor WC in Paris in 1997, he came in sixth place.
Henrik Larsson broke Lövgren and came in fifth place with 6.56, just eight thousandths from fourth place. It is the best Swedish result ever in 60 meters.
– Of course I would have liked to break a new Swedish record, but you can see that it is still good with the consistency of three races on the same day, says Larsson.
The Swede was last into the WC final with the second best “lucky loser” time of 6.55.
The American Christian Coleman holds the world record in the 60 meters with a time of 6.34 from 2018. At the indoor WC in Glasgow, he won with a time of 6.41 ahead of compatriot Noah Lyles, 6.44.
