Athletics: Daniel Ståhl lost the duel with Ceh: “I’m really on G”

– It feels much better than the last competitions. I’m really on “G”. It’s still fun to throw in the rain, says Ståhl to SVT Sport after finishing second behind the European champion Ceh.

Before the Olympics in Paris, where athletics begin in early August, Ståhl will compete in Hungary on Tuesday and two throwing events in Malmö on July 20 and 21.

Olympics in Paris 2024

  • Massive athletics criticism of the SOC after the Olympic selections: “My own country prevents me”

  • The unknown medal hope Hampus Winberg: “Wants a top three position”

  • – I throw really far in training, now it’s just a matter of getting it to the competition, says Ståhl.

It was difficult conditions with rain and a slippery ring.

Simon Pettersson had around 63.5 meters in his first throw but failed to stay in the ring and stepped over. He stayed at 61.93. Pettersson had had to throw the SOK’s nomination requirement of 66.63 in order to go to the Olympics and defend his silver from Tokyo 2021. Now he has to stay at home.
