Athletics: Armand Duplantis broke the world record

6 meters was enough for Armand Duplantis to win as Sam Kendrick’s Emmanouil Karalis took more effort to clear the height.

Duplantis then went for the world record of 6.26.

He failed the first attempt. But on the second attempt, he broke the world record – with a tremor on the bar.

– I knew I felt good and the weather was absolutely perfect for jumping high. There was no wind at all, warm and a great course. Only up to me to jump high, says Duplantis to SVT Sport.

– I knew it was possible today, I felt it in my body that the world record was possible.

It was the third time this year that he broke his own world record. April 20 during the Diamond League in China he jumped 6.24 and during the Olympics in Paris he won the gold and then jumped 6.25.

It was the tenth time he broke the pole vault world record.
