Athletics: Andreas Kramer to the final after making a “superman fall”

Kramer had dropped on the far side and in the tight race he was trapped but managed to get forward and threw his arm forward to finish third behind reigning champion Mariano Garica who won in 1.47.83 after making his pre-race motorcycle gesture.

Second was Catalin Tecuceanu, who got to feel Kramer’s arm at the finish line. The Italian had 1.48.13.

  • “The body feels really good”

    – It was tight at the end and I got the chance when it opened up and there was some kind of gap and I had to drive a kind of “superman” to the finish. I did a lot of things right in the race. The body feels really good, says Kramer, who was fifth in the WC finals indoors two years ago.

    – I wanted to be strong at the end and it was close to happening, but I’m in the WC final and I shouldn’t say that I’m dissatisfied, Kramer describes the situation before the raging riot.

Tomorrow’s final will be decided at 10:10 p.m. Kramer is hopeful.

    – So far I have been able to read the races very well, it is important to run 800 meters and not 805.
