Stéphano Massini’s musical piece “Non-Rehabilitable Woman” retraces the life of Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaïa, heroic figure of press freedom assassinated on October 7, 2006, who investigated the war in Chechnya by defying the censorship of State and the serious threats hanging over her and her work as a reporter.
Anna Politkovskaïa is a figure, and even a martyr of the freedom of the press. 17 years after his assassination, his fight, his writings and his personality as an honest and tireless reporter continue to resonate with international news. By going into the field, to meet the combatants of the second war in Chechnya, Anna Politkovskaïa testified at the risk of her life of the fighting and the abuses committed by Russian and pro-Russian soldiers and combatants, and no intimidation was able to silence her, until her assassination in Moscow on October 7, 2006, the birthday of a certain Vladimir Putin.
