At the RN training for members in anticipation of possible

In France, it is the week of all dangers for the government of Michel Barnier, it could fall this week if a 49.3 is drawn this Monday, December 2 on the occasion of the vote on the Social Security budget and a motion of censure is then voted on. In this climate of political instability, some are betting that Emmanuel Macron will end up calling new elections next summer and political parties are preparing. The far-right party, the National Rally, has been organizing online training for several weeks for its new members.

It is 11:30 a.m. and on rue Michel Ange, at the headquarters of the National Rally, in a small room, Edwige Diaz, vice-president of the party, is sitting in front of a computer, surrounded by cameras and projectors. Around a hundred new members of the RN are connected to the live YouTube. On the program, for 45 minutes, a presentation of the RN, “ We are the first party to France »reminds the vice-president, followed by a question and answer: “ The first question that comes to my mind: how do we distribute the leaflets in the markets? »

Among the participants in livea security officer, a retiree, a medical secretary or even a department head. “ I learned lots of things. Already, how to get to the sites and the different formations of the National Rally », testifies this participant.

Some members do not hide their desire to one day have responsibilities within the far-right party, as another member confides: “ I offered to join a National Rally list. I will indeed continue to follow the different training courses and I hope one day to be able to join the party through elections. »

Detect interesting profiles

Through these training courses, the National Rally seeks to stimulate its activists and detect interesting profiles. “ There are training for new programmatic members, training on the media trainingthat’s between five and ten training sessions per month, Edwige Diaz list. It is a breeding ground for tomorrow’s executives, tomorrow’s candidates and tomorrow’s elected officials. »

It must be said that during the legislative elections last June, certain candidates stood out, in particular for their cruel lack of control of the files. But these problems have nothing to do with these new training courses, defends Edwige Diaz: “ We have not put this system in place to avoid certain accidents which are in the very minority. Our candidates will be trained, but in due time, when they are pre-invested. »

The RN’s approach is pragmatic, analyzes Benjamin Morel for his part. For the political scientist, the party with the flame and has even more interest than others in taking an interest in the question, particularly in view of the sociological profile of the activists: “ If you do not have trained, structured executives, you give a bad image of yourself at the local level, explains the political scientist. This also allows you to select them. Members of the National Rally often come from the working classes. Training that could approach the political profession is often less present than, for example, structures like La République en Marche where we looked for executives, CSP+. »

The National Rally claims to be in working order. But beyond the postures, a reality: a new dissolution of the Assembly could take place next summer, in just seven months.
