At the Euronaval show the rapid dronization of naval navies

Combat drones, but also for surveillance of the seas and the seabed, drones are everywhere on the stands of the Euronaval international defense exhibition which opened its doors on Monday near Paris. The navies are not immune to a rapid droneization of their forces, and to meet demand, a large number of the drones offered rely on a duality: civil and military.

Delair, Exail, Diodon and ArkeOcéan, French SMEs specializing in drones are everywhere in the aisles ofEuronavalbecause offshore, the drone moves the lines. Above all, a large number of solutions previously proposed to manufacturers are now finding their military version: in all areas.

Duality is the key to success, assures Bastien Mancini, CEO of Delair. For example, for two years it has been marketing the Seasam, a small underwater drone responsible for monitoring the condition of ship hulls, those of cargo ships as well as those of frigates.

It is not very big, it has seven engines which allow it to be very maneuverable, to fight very well against currents too and this is an aspect on which we insist », Indicates Bastien Mancini. “ We don’t make demonstration objects. We really make operational objects with cameras that improve the vision of lighting systems. We can put different payloads. » « We sold some to the navy, we sold some to the civilian sector… For us, it’s a great success », he said, satisfied.

Protecting maritime traffic, but also submarine cables, the missions of the navies are multiplying and in this context civil-military naval drones take on their importance, with their innovative solutions and their low prices.
