No arrests have been made and Maine State Police are describing it as an “active shooter situation” and are asking residents in the area to take cover via Facebook.
The local police have published two photos of a suspected shooter via Facebook and are appealing for help in identifying the man. In the photos, which are apparently taken by a surveillance camera, a man can be seen entering a premises with an automatic weapon in his hands.
Shootings are suspected to have taken place at several locations, including inside a bowling alley, a bar and a location belonging to Walmart.
A White House source tells NBC that President Joe Biden has been informed of the incident.
