In Indonesia, at least nine people have died in a volcanic eruption in the eastern parts of the country.
The Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano on the island of Flores erupted around midnight local time. Lava and rocks hit a nearby residential area.
Numerous villages near the volcano have been evacuated.
Spokesperson for Indonesian Volcanology Research Center PVMBG Hadi Wijaya told Reuters that after the eruption there were power outages and rain and lightning in the area. This caused panic among local residents, he said.
