At least five people have been killed after a Russian robot attack on the city of Chernihiv, 15 miles north of Kiev. This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky writes on Telegram.

Among other things, a theater and a university of applied sciences are said to have met. At least five people have been killed and 37 people injured, including eleven children, writes Minister of the Interior Ihor Klymenko on Telegram.

“A square, the university of applied sciences, a theatre. An ordinary Saturday that Russia turned into a day of sadness and loss. There are dead, there are wounded,” Zelensky writes on Telegram.

Zelenskyy also posted a video from the scene showing debris around a large Soviet-era building with cars parked around it that are partially destroyed, with smashed roofs and blown out windows.

The governor of the Chernihiv region, Vyacheslav Tjaus, has said the city center was likely hit by a ballistic missile and urged people to seek shelter.

Russian forces marched through the city as they launched their full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24 last year, but were then pushed back by Ukrainian forces.
