The downpour has been caused by typhoon Doksuri, which has been lashing northern China since Friday, causing rivers to overflow.
Video clips from the area show how roads ended up under water – and cars and trees washed away.
The storm has prompted the Chinese capital, Beijing, to introduce the highest level of flood and landslide warnings.
