At least eight people have lost their lives in landslides caused by torrential rains in southeastern China.
Five of the victims were found in a collapsed factory building and another three in a residential building in Fujian province in southeastern China, according to the state-run New China news agency.
The torrential rain began on Thursday evening, local time, and the water masses have destroyed crops, caused power outages and destroyed nearly 40 houses in the area. More than 1,600 people have had to be evacuated.
