As a result of storm Helene, at least 90 people have died in five different states in the United States, reports news channel CNN.
As a result of the storm, people have died in the states of South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Virginia. In North Carolina alone, 36 people have died, state officials say.
The authorities think that the number of dead will rise.
Storm Helene has damaged water distribution, communication links and important transportation links throughout the southeastern states of the United States, according to the US Emergency Management Agency, FEMA.
The US military was supposed to assess the damage caused to the water supply as late as Sunday local time.
