At least 48 dead after Hurricane Otis in Mexico

The number of missing people also rises, to 36 people.

On Sunday, workers and volunteers in the Mexican resort of Acapulco cleared streets filled with debris from the hurricane.

Winds peaked at 73.8 meters per second when Otis made landfall at Acapulco on Wednesday, but the hurricane later weakened.

Gale force winds and subsequent flooding tore down houses and smashed infrastructure.
