The act occurred at Robb Elementary School in the city of Uvalde on Tuesday morning local time. A community of about 16,000 people in the state of Texas. Nearly 600 students in grades 2-4 go to primary school where the mass shooting took place.
– We have several injured, students and teachers, and several deaths. The perpetrator is dead, says the city’s police chief Pete Arredondo.
Everything that has emerged so far indicates that it is a lone perpetrator, Arredondo states.
The death toll rose during Wednesday night Swedish time to 21 people, including 19 children and two adults, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
No motive behind the act has yet emerged.
