In Ecuador, in South America, at least 16 people have died and eight have been injured in a traffic accident, rescue officials say.
According to the authority, a bus and another vehicle were involved in the collision that took place in the southern part of the country in the province of Loja.
The injured have been transported to several different health centers for treatment.
Loja borders the neighboring country Peru in the south.
