At least 16 people have been killed and nine injured in a fire in an apartment building in the United Arab Emirates’ largest city, Dubai, authorities said.
The fire occurred in the Al Ras area, one of Dubai’s older parts with small winding streets. There is, among other things, a well-known spice market.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
