At Autumn Camp in the PI Nieuwegein: ‘I really enjoy being with my daddy’

At Autumn Camp in the PI Nieuwegein I really enjoy

The children who participate in the Autumn Camp are with their father for three days from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon. They sleep on a campus close to the PI in Nieuwegein. Employees and volunteers of the Exodus Netherlands Foundation accompany the children in the camp, where they spend a total of four nights.

The camp is preceded by months of preparation. Intake interviews are held with the families. The fathers are prepared for the arrival of their child. Conversely, the children are linked to a volunteer who gets to know the children in advance and who is also always present during the camp.

The Autumn Camp is a collaboration between the Exodus Netherlands Foundation and the Custodial Institutions Service. It was first organized three years ago in the PI Vught, then in the PI in Veenhuizen. And this year for the first time in Nieuwegein.
