The term ultraportable tends to be overused by some manufacturers who hasten to attach this name to any laptop that is a little slender and light. However, an ultraportable is also defined by other criteria and practical features that promote nomadic use. As such, we can say that the ZenBook 13 OLED (UX325E)Asus does not in the least usurp its ultraportable rank. Compact and light, it offers a muscular configuration and features that are particularly well suited to mobility. It also has a major asset: a 13.3-inch OLED screen that provides optimal reading comfort whatever the light conditions. Futura was able to try the ZenBook 13 Oled in its version equipped with a Core i5 processor of 11and generation with 16 GB of random access memory and 512 GB of SSD.

A design with finesse

With just over a kilo on the scale (1.14 kg), 30.4 cm wide by 20.3 cm deep and 1.3 cm thick, this ZenBook 13 Oled is easy to take with you everywhere to work in transport and public places, placed on a corner of your table or on the lap. We will release it with all the more satisfaction as its design radiates a beautiful elegance. The finish mainly in aluminum, beveled edges and clean lines provide an upscale feel. Only small drawback, the coating tends to quickly mark under the fingers.

To try the Oled is to adopt it

This is undoubtedly the key advantage of the ZenBook 13: its 13.3-inch full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) Oled screen which delighted us throughout our test with its colors vivid and faithful, its deep blacks and its contrast excellent. Whether working on documents, office applications, to watch photos or stream series, the visual comfort provided by the Oled display is exceptional. No need to force the adjustment of brightness which we maintained around 50% during our test. The thin edges ensure a good feeling of immersion while the technology of reduction of the blue light effectively prevents fatigue ocular. We were able to chain the hours to work, surf the Web and watch movies and series in streaming. Our biggest regret? Have to get used to it againLCD screen of our desktop computer which now seems very dull to us.

Performance and features: an ultraportable designed for productivity

Under the hood, the ZenBook Oled 13 gets 11 Core i processorsand generation that offer better overall performance than the previous generation and management of theenergy sharper, the benefits of which we have been able to measure in terms ofautonomy. Our test model is equipped with a quad-core Core i5 1135G7 with 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of SSD and a chipsets chart Intel Iris Xe. A configuration that delivers just the right amount of power and fluidity for multitasking and all apps office automation. Let’s be clear, this is not a machine for the video game and Asus doesn’t claim it in the slightest. We can run titles that are not very demanding graphically, but little more.

Never mind, this ZenBook 13 is primarily aimed at those who want a ultraportable reliable to work. And it has everything it takes to deliver comfort and performance. We particularly appreciated the quality of the keyboard which, despite the overall small footprint, is roomy enough to promote fast and accurate typing. It offers a pleasant touch and good depth.

Another positive point is the touchpad good size turns out perfectly reagent. Cherry on the cake, it integrates the NumPad function which turns the touchpad into a keypad digital with a single pressure on theicon located in the upper right corner. The numerical grid is displayed thanks to a backlight LEDs and the system even knows how to recognize gestures so that you can combine the touchpad and numeric keypad. And when you press and hold in the upper left corner by sliding your finger down, you launch the calculator application of Windows 11. It’s simple and very convenient.

Speaking of Windows, the webcam HD 720p integrated above the screen is compatible with the Windows Hello function which allows unlocking access to the computer by facial recognition. On the connector side, we appreciate the presence of the two Thunderbolt 4 ports which provide gears high transfer rates allowing either to recharge the battery or to connect monitors external 4K, even 8K. They are complemented by a port hdmi 2.0, one port USB 3.2 and a reader of memory card microSD. The only thing missing is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The ZenBook 13 Oled is compatible Wireless 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The audio part is correct, nothing more, which is part of the typical concessions on ultraportables. Note the presence of a function of active noise reduction (RBA) supposed to improve the sound, especially during video calls. During our tests, our interlocutors told us that they did not perceive any significant difference when the RBA was activated.

Autonomy: mention very good

The autonomy offered by the 67 Wh battery of the ZenBook 13 Oled is simply exemplary. The Core i5 processor of 11and generation perfectly manages energy consumption. Without any particular sacrifices on the settings, we easily achieved 10 to 12 hours of use on one charge during our test. Enough to consider full days of use without the need for a power outlet. And when it does, fast charging restores 60% of the battery in 49 minutes.

Conclusion

The ZenBook 13 Oled is one of the best models in its category. This versatile, durable ultraportable is really pleasant to use on a daily basis. An ideal work tool on the go or at the office thanks to its powerful configuration and its superb OLED screen which provides very appreciable comfort for prolonged use. It ticks all the boxes of great value for money.
