After its very first console released a year earlier, the ROG Ally, the company Asus is taking a further step into the portable console market by launching the ROG Ally X. It must be said that this market is undoubtedly dominated by the giant Nintendo and its famous Nintendo Switch. However, brands such as Asus, Logitech and Valve do not hesitate to overshadow the competition to establish themselves in this market.

What are the features and performance of the Asus ROG Ally X?
If there is one point that Asus has not stopped focusing on, it is that of the characteristics of its ROG Ally X. In its press release, several key points are mentioned and they should please to fans of the old console.
Completely redesigned, the chassis of the ROG Ally X adopts a brand new black color unlike the white of the previous ROG Ally. The company has focused on optimal playing comfort by offering deeper and rounded handles to their users. In terms of controls, the console has more ergonomic buttons and joysticks which make it easier to press. The joysticks have been replaced with more durable models lasting up to 5 million cycles. In terms of connectivity, the XG Mobile USB port originally present on the ROG Ally has been replaced by two USB-C ports, one of which is compatible with “Thunderbolt“.
Taking into account multiple user feedback, Asus has optimized all the components of its new console. The latter includes significantly improved storage space since it goes from 512 GB for the ROG Ally to almost double and now reaches 1 TB. It is accompanied by a new level of storage which reaches 24 GB of RAM for a greater flexibility in terms of games available on the console. Note a similarity with its younger sister since the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor present on the ROG Ally remains the same. This should allow the console to run the most recent video games with good quality and fluidity.
In terms of autonomy, the ROG Ally X has an 80 W battery, double the capacity of the old model. A significant gain which will offer several hours of additional gaming. To run games in the best conditions, the console has fans that are 23% smaller but whose blades are thinner to better allow airflow to pass through. Its weight of 678g is however a little higher than expected but the console ensures good gaming comfort.
How much does the ROG Ally X cost?
The price of the console is 899 euros in France. A good investment all the same since it represents 100 additional euros compared to its younger sister, the ROG Ally. As a reminder, the latter was 799 euros upon its release. After a year, the console is offered at its best price at Amazon.
