Aston Villas hold on the Champions Leagues direct continuation spot

The goal scored in the opening minutes of Monaco’s match was enough to win the soccer Champions League.

Aston Villa’s quest for a direct continuation in the men’s Champions League took a turn for the worse on Tuesday in Monaco. The home team Monaco defeated their visitors from Birmingham 1–0 and struggled to fight for a direct continuation place.

Monaco’s goal was scored in the 8th minute from a special situation by the team’s Ivorian topper Wilfried Singo.

Aston Villa kept the ball and controlled the game, but only in appearance. In recent seasons, Villa’s leading man has effectively decided attacks Ollie Watkins missed the ball too often.

In the English Premier League, Aston Villa, who strengthened their confidence with victories over the mighty Leicester and Everton, will face Celtic in the final round of the Champions League league stage in a week. Monaco, who have risen to 13 points like Villa, will face Inter in Milan at the end of the league stage.
