Assassins Creed Mirage preview

In our Assassin’s Creed Mirage preview content, we take a closer look at the general dynamics of the game, which we had the chance to play for approximately four hours.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage preview : I recently had the chance to play Assassin’s Creed Mirage for about four hours. In this video, I will share with you the information and experiences we have gained about the game. Most of the footage you will watch consists of the part I played.

This time, Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes us to Baghdad, one of the most important points of the period. In the game, we control the character Basim, whom you will remember from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and witness the story of his transformation from theft to an important member of the assassin corps. I can already say that you will get much more details about Basim, which is very important for the series, in this game.

In this demo that we played for more than three hours, we were allowed to play three different parts of the game. In the first stage, we go back to the time when Basim was a thief, before he joined the assassin squad. So, just like in the 2nd game, we will be told how the character joined the union and what he did before. We can say that this is also the part where we will learn the game gradually and master its dynamics.

In the second part of the demo, Alamut Castle sections are directly included. Here we see that Basim is fully trained to become an assassin. Of course, we will also encounter some important developments in terms of the game and the story in this section. Alamut Castle, one of the most important locations of the first game and the series, looks very beautiful in the new game. They made us feel that it was literally the center of unity.

In the last part of the demo we played, the game drops us into the center of Baghdad. Here we were allowed to roam completely free and do side missions and wandering around outside of the main. Since many of our skills were revealed, we also experienced the important dynamics of the game.

First of all, I really liked Mirage in terms of visuals and atmosphere. Baghdad and its surroundings are beautifully designed. They really managed to capture the atmosphere of that first game in terms of visuals and atmosphere. Ubisoft’s attention to detail in those historical buildings is evident in this game, too. The structures and designs in the game have been prepared very carefully, as expected. Baghdad is a large city that extends out from the center and has rounded lines. As you move away from the city center, the map of the game is decorated with fields, mountainous areas and different settlements, large and small. The game’s map is a little smaller compared to games like Valhalla and Origins.

The playground was nicely set up for our track and climbing abilities. Historical buildings, the market area and important points that we can climb on and open the map in the classic way are still present in the game. In fact, it is possible to say that its general structure is based on the dynamics we are already familiar with. In a sense, we have a production that undertakes the task of wrapping up the story before new games. Therefore, if you have very different expectations in terms of gameplay and visuals, this may upset you a bit. In general terms, I can say that it is a game that follows in the footsteps of Valhalla.

In terms of gameplay, Mirage has a slightly simpler structure. In other words, we have a production that is significantly stripped of the RPG elements that have been so prevalent in recent games. Much like the old games, emphasis is placed on action, stealth and parkour dynamics. In this regard, it has a structure that remains faithful to the first games. In fact, I can say that it is a production that is generally based on the latest games in terms of gameplay and combat dynamics, but follows in the footsteps of the first games in terms of operation.

Assassination missions and the path you take to go to these missions form the skeleton of the game. The investigation system has been integrated into the game in detail. So let’s say you have an important goal, you just can’t find it. You start with small goals, research around, and get information. An investigation system has been developed in which you will move towards the big goal after completing a series of tasks. Such an investigation map is included in the game, just like the game map. You can also focus on different goals and tasks from here.

Of course, in the game, we use many weapons and items that we are familiar with from the series, apart from our classic assassin knife. We have many options such as swords, knives, smoke bombs, poison darts. Additionally, our eagle, which we use as a drone, has retained its place in the game. It is really difficult to pass especially the areas where your main target is without this eagle. Because it is important to identify the location of the enemies from above and develop different strategies accordingly. The game pushes you to stealth in these areas, and this was a detail I liked.

The point that undermines this detail is artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence in the game was really bad in the part we played. Frankly, I do not expect an advanced artificial intelligence from this type of game during action moments. However, at points where privacy is at the forefront, the artificial intelligence problem undermines these privacy elements. So let’s say you have a target for two people. Even when you grab one of them and pull him towards the grass, you can witness the other soldier staring blankly. The series has not made any progress in this regard for years and nothing has changed much in the new game.

One of the innovations in the gameplay part is the Assassin Focus system. As you take down opponents, a bar increases, allowing you to string together multiple enemies instantly. All you have to do is target the enemies and take action. Basim automatically dashes forward and automatically finishes off targeted enemies. This system works for you at key moments, but if you ask whether it was necessary, frankly, I’m not very sure about it. Even though I used it frequently, for some reason it was not an operation that I enjoyed.

As a result, Mirage is a smaller-scale game that you can finish in a much shorter time than the recent games of the series. If you are not very happy with the course of the series like me, there is a high probability that you will get bored in a short time. However, if you are already enjoying the games of the series, if you have devoured the Valhalla and Odyssey games, I can say that enjoyable hours await you in terms of the story and the investigation system.
